LewAllen Galleries is pleased to present a specially curated survey of works created between 1919 and 1981 by pioneering voices within the Southwest Modernist movement in general and in New Mexico in particular. While indebted to Modernism’s foundational roots in Europe and on the U.S. East Coast, these artists sought to tell a new story: a Modernism that was separate, original, and distinctly American.
